Some of the most amazing postal art that I have received is from Angela Behrendt of Hannover Germany. She has a unique style combining collage and her trademark of cards, homemade stamps and paper that have been stitched with a sewing machine. The sewed paper works often reference anything from fine art, conceptual ideas, witty quotes and words and common outlines of recognizable imagery. The works are very clever and I would love one day to perhaps curate a show of these works of Angela I have collected and traded. I know very little about her but since I have moved to Germany it has been much easier to keep more frequent correspondence with her. Many of her works make me think of Jenny Holzer, but it seems that she often references so many things from Kurt Schwitters (also from Hannover), Banksy, Pablo Picasso, Fluxus art and German graffiti. I am proud to have these works in my collection and of course as she knows I am very fond of Kurt Schwitters so she has sent me many Schwitters themed art.
